The Role
This hybrid role combines remote work with site presence on client projects.
Who Is This Role For
Experienced project professionals in the UK transmission and distribution sector, preferably with experience on the developer/operator side or as principal contractors. You should have a proven reputation in the sector, with colleagues eager to work with you again.
Purpose of the Role
Lead project delivery as a sector SME, mentor team members, and serve clients in planning and project controls. Support growth by developing proposals, winning strategies, and building client relationships.
Team
Part of our Project Management Consultancy, focusing on understanding project problems, implementing solutions, and developing scalable practices. Your initial leader will be our Power & Renewable sector lead.
Objectives & Responsibilities
- Deliver projects to near perfection; develop scalable solutions; foster team and personal growth.
- Own project plans, ensure effective execution, and mitigate delays.
- Provide actionable reports to stakeholders.
- Develop and implement scalable, repeatable best practices and tools.
- Maximize team development and educate clients.
Capabilities
- Minimum 7 years of UK transmission & distribution project management experience.
- Strong understanding of sector-specific requirements, processes, and client relationships.
- Ability to lead digital planning and project controls services.
- Knowledge of project delivery from inception to closeout, including contract familiarity (preferably NEC).
Sector Focus
- Experience delivering construction projects as a client or general contractor in the T&D sector.
- Understanding of sector regulations, processes, and project strategies.
Must-Have Skills
- Construction engineering background with proven impact in project planning and delivery.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Proactive leadership and self-management.
- Track record of improving projects and organizations.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Experience in project planning software.
- Leadership and coaching experience.
