Principal Mechanical Engineer / Associate Director – Newcastle

Location: Newcastle | Full-time | Hybrid

Sector: Building Services / MEP Engineering

A growing MEP consultancy is expanding its Newcastle office and seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer / Associate Director to lead a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team on technically complex projects.

This senior leadership role offers the chance to drive project delivery, mentor engineers, and contribute to long-term business growth. Experience in data centres is a plus—but not essential, as training will be provided for candidates with a strong engineering background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design on high-profile projects
  • Manage team development, performance, and recruitment
  • Oversee project financials and contract negotiations
  • Shape long-term business strategy and client relationships
  • Requirements

    • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent
    • Proven team and project leadership experience
    • Strong technical background across building services
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and people skills
