Job Title: CIO

Package: £120k-£150k base + bonus 20-25%, pension at 3%, 25 days annual leave.

Location: Remote / Hybrid (occasional travel to London, Essex, Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh)

Our private equity client, in 2024, acquired a UK provider of industrial services supporting critical environments in power, energy, nuclear, and manufacturing sectors. The group aims to grow through organic growth and M&A, building a leading industrial services and infrastructure maintenance provider.

The Role

As a key member of the executive team, the CIO will develop and execute a technology, data, insights, and cybersecurity strategy supporting innovation, compliance, and operational excellence. The role offers the opportunity to lead impactful change in a fast-moving, private equity-backed group.

The CIO will:

  1. Define and implement a scalable target architecture aligned with exit initiatives.
  2. Drive insights through data to support business strategy.
  3. Balance technical problem-solving with strategic thinking.
  4. Oversee IT operations, vendors, networking, infrastructure, and security.
  5. Lead and develop the IT team across support, development, PMO, and infrastructure.
  6. Foster innovation through technology, automation, AI, and GenAI.
  7. Manage vendor relationships and contracts.
  8. Ensure cybersecurity and secure environments.
  9. Engage with senior stakeholders and the board.

Experience – Must have

  1. Experience in the field services sector.
  2. At least 5 years of senior technology leadership, with team development experience.
  3. Proven success in digital and data transformation, including automation and process improvement.
  4. Strong data strategy background, including MDM and governance.
  5. Proficiency with BI tools and cloud/data center platforms.
  6. Experience with IT M&A integration and migration.
  7. Understanding of cybersecurity principles.
  8. Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
