Our public sector client is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join their team. This role is ideal for someone experienced in public sector procurement who wants to develop their career in a supportive environment. The Procurement Specialist will oversee procurement projects across categories such as goods, services, and works. You will collaborate with stakeholders to meet procurement needs from planning to contract award and supplier management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with departments to understand procurement needs
• Manage compliant above-threshold procurement processes per Public Contracts Regulations
• Utilize relevant public sector frameworks
• Handle tendering and quotation processes, including evaluation, negotiation, and awards
• Maintain strong supplier relationships
• Improve internal procurement processes using the "Procurement Journey"
• Provide procurement training and support to colleagues
• Report on procurement activities and performance

Required Experience and Knowledge:

• Experience in public sector procurement
• Knowledge of Scottish and UK procurement regulations
• Familiarity with regulated tendering processes (e.g., Public Contracts (Scotland), PRA (Scotland) Act)
• Understanding of ethical, social, and environmental procurement factors
• Project management skills and deadline adherence
• Ability to work with stakeholders and build relationships
